Robert P. Skubiak Biography

Robert P. Skubiak, founder and senior partner of Skubiak & Rivas, P.A., graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics in 1989 and then went to law schools at the University of Florida and graduated in 1992. At the age of 24, Robert Skubiak pursued a legal career in traffic defense.

After a short stint learning the criminal traffic defense trade as an associate attorney for a prominent Miami firm, Robert Skubiak started Robert Skubiak, P.A. in September 1993.

Success quickly followed as the firm grew and in 1999 Alain Rivas joined the firm as an associate attorney. The momentum continued as Skubiak & Rivas, P.A. was formed in 2001. Robert Skubiak combines to further the firm’s reputation, as the community, local judges and attorneys have become familiar with Robert Skubiak and Alain Rivas daily courtroom appearances.

Robert Skubiak, P.A. has since thrived as Orlando’s most recognizable and consistent traffic defense firm.

Personally, Robert Skubiak is an avid tennis player, and has professionally acted in television and on stage. Born and raised in Chicago, IL and Holmdel, NJ. Robert Skubiak has called Florida home since in 1990.

Alain Rivas Biography

Alain Rivas graduated from Rollins College with a B.A. in Political Science and History in 1992 and subsequently attended Stetson College of Law where he graduated in 1994.

After law school, Mr. Rivas worked for the Hillsborough County Attorney’s Office as a law clerk in various departments. In 1998, Mr. Rivas moved back to Orlando and worked as legal counsel for Joelo Inc., a local retailer.

In 1999, he joined Robert Skubiak, P.A, and began to practice exclusively in criminal and traffic defense. Since 2001, Skubiak & Rivas P.A. has grown into Central Florida’s most recognizable defense firm due to the firm’s commitment to excellent service and passionate representation. Mr. Rivas takes much pride that most of the firm’s new clients were favorably referred by a previous client.

Alain Rivas interests involve classic cars, and is a member of AROC and Central Florida Alfa Romeo Club. Other interest involve playing tennis. Born in Cuba, Mr. Rivas has lived in Orlando since 1979.
